Why adults:
After 20+ years as a music and television executive in Los Angeles and New York, I’ve seen that hard work and achievement can unfortunately create challenges with work/life balance, burnout, managing relationships, stress manifesting in the body, anxiety/depression and insomnia, and that’s just Monday.
For adults, there’s often the question of “How did I get here?” and “Where am I going?” that creates existential “stuck-ness.” For my clients, progress happens through our collaborative process of meaning-making and deliberate movement toward change.
Why teenage girls:
I am passionate about helping girls build self-esteem, create healthy boundaries and coping strategies, manage anxiety and screen time, advocate for themselves, and build healthier relationships with parents, siblings, and friends. Having attended a college prep school for grades 7-12, and undergrad at the University of Pennsylvania, I can relate to the personal and family pressures and stressors of academic pursuits.
Why children and their families:
I received my Masters degree in psychology with a concentration in marriage and family therapy from Phillips Graduate University. I did post-graduate work at Clinica Sierra Vista with adults, children, teens and their families. I find family work very rewarding: my strategy is to join the family unit as an authentic, non-judgmental ally, and provide tools to foster mutual compassion among family members, giving each a voice.
I am a licensed psychotherapist in California, meeting with clients virtually throughout the state, and in-office in the Los Angeles area. While I specialize in treating teenage girls, I also work with individual adults, and with children and their families.
